Philipp Fankhauser first met Louisiana Red in person in 1982 in Zug, Switzerland. The Blues giant invited the novice Fankhauser to his stage and gave him his first "lesson" of what it means wanting to live the Blues.

Over the years the two have regularly met, and sat down for hours in clubs, hotel rooms, even in parking garages, and Philipp has learend a lot from Louisiana Red. Even Red adopted one or two tricks of Fankhauser!
